Jean Pierre Etchegaray

I am working on the role of SIRT6 in stem cells pluripotency and its functions as a specific histone deacetylase. I’m from a really cool town in Chile called Valdivia. I moved to the U.S. in 1991 to study at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. My research interests involve understanding how chromatin regulates gene expression. In my spare time I enjoy painting, running and skiing. Painting is an important part of my life because it helps my intellectual approach to experimental designs. I hope one day my paintings will be displayed in a museum like the MFA or the Met - and as a back up possibly the Guggenheim J
